Why Homeowners with Two-Storey Buildings Should Think Twice Before Choosing Verisure’s New Security System

Verisure’s website and Sales Representatives does an excellent job at marketing their new system, highlighting the advanced features and the sense of control and security it promises to homeowners. However, there’s a significant detail that often comes as an unwelcome surprise during the actual installation process – unexpected additional costs for thier extra devices.

The Core Issue: Lack of Accessible Control for Upstairs Homeowners

At the heart of my argument lies the system’s design concerning the control panel and SOS functionality. Verisure’s system is generally installed on the Ground floor, which is standard. However, the crucial oversight is the removal of the control panel’s ability for homeowners to trigger the SOS button or the control panel where we can activate from our comfort from their bedrooms, particularly vital for those residing on the First/ second floor.

Imagine a scenario where an intruder breaks into your home. The most immediate and safe response for anyone, especially at night, would be to activate the alarm system from the relative safety of their bedroom. Unfortunately, with Verisure’s new design, this crucial feature is missing.

The Additional Costs: An Unwarranted Burden

Further adding to the dismay, Verisure is currently charging £99 for customers, with an additional monthly fee of £1.20, for a feature that, in my opinion, should be an integral part of the system’s design. This pricing strategy seems unreasonable, especially when considering the fundamental design flaw that compromises homeowner safety in two-storey buildings.

My Personal Experience: A Struggle for Safety and Fairness

Based on my personal experience, discussing this issue with Verisure has been a frustrating ordeal. The company’s insistence on charging extra for a feature that should be a standard safety measure feels unfair. Safety should not come at an additional cost, especially when the system’s basic design does not cater to the unique needs of two-storey homes.

A Call for Reconsideration and Better Design

I urge potential customers, especially those living in two-story buildings, to carefully consider these points before opting for Verisure’s new system. While the technology is undoubtedly advanced, the lack of an easily accessible Alarm activating ability and SOS feature from upstairs rooms is a glaring oversight that can compromise your safety in an emergency.

Safety should be inclusive and accessible. It’s time for security system providers like Verisure to rethink their designs and pricing strategies to ensure they cater effectively and fairly to all homeowners, regardless of their house’s structure.
